Moviebuff's New Year's Reflections & Resolutions
2010 has been a rough year for the world: the Haiti earthquake, the economy, the Gulf Oil Spill, but let's hope 2011 will be a better year for everyone (I think it will be better.) I want everyone to have the best new year ever full of health and happiness (no negative things & thoughts). Be safe and have fun. If you don't have fun for yourself (not thinking about work and kids), then EVERYBODY will have a good year! This upcoming year contains 3 weird dates; January 1, 2011 (1/1/11), January 11, 2011 (1/11/11) and November 11, 2011 (11/11/11). Don't even think about those! All in all, I can't wait to see the awesome things God has planned for me, my friends and my family in 2011! With that said, here are my resolutions:
RESOLUTIONS:
RESOLUTIONS:
- I want to stay healthy all year--When I make it at work and that 4:00 work bell sounds off today for the end of 2010, this will be the first year in a while that I haven't missed a day b/c of illness.
- I want to build better relationships with others--friends on FB, family, coworkers, etc. One of my things on my bucket list is to reunite and/or meet every friend I have on FB if I haven't yet. That's why I'm going to blog more often so I can get a piece of my mind out and be more opinionated to others. I might set up a 15 year high school reunion (I already have a FB page on here) and judging by the response and how many people have shown interest, it will happen (with some help!)
- I NEED TO FIND LOVE--for the past 10 years, I haven't been on one date and I need to look. I've been trying to find some women who are friends of my friends on here, but if the last resort is ONLINE DATING, I will try to do that next year
Back to the blog......
Sorry, I haven't been blogging a lot lately...busy with work and got myself a HDVTV with a Blu-Ray player for Christmas so I've been having fun with that. But I promise that I will blog more often next year. ...

Movies I want to see in the theaters during the summer
There are so many movies out. It's hard to see them all in the theaters. I used to see most of last year's summer movies in the theater, but not anymore. Here are the ones that I want to see in the theaters this summer:
GROWN-UPS--Judging by the previews, this movie looks hillarious with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James & Rob Schneider. I want to see the pool scene in its entirety.
INCEPTION--This movie looks weird and good with Leonardo Dicaprio and Ellen Page from Juno. It's directed by Christopher Nolan, who directed Memento & The Dark Knight.
SALT-Angelina Jolie + action = MUST-SEE!
THE OTHER GUYS-I read about the Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrell cop comedy in the brand new issue of Entertainment Weekly. They will make a pretty good team!
THE EXPENDABLES-If Sex & The City 2 & Eclipse is for women, then this is for men! Sylvester Stallone directs himself, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, Rampage Jackson and a few cameos from Bruce Willis & Arnold Schwarzenegger! Major testerone fest!
Thats' it--might see Knight & Day with Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz or maybe Eclipse to see how the book relates to the movie.

Last Night's American Idol Mini Recap
Sorry about the lateness of the blog post. I had to find some time in doing this. I'm doing this during work hours. Last night's season premiere of American Idol was the first one without Paula Abdul as one of the judges. Ellen DeGeneres will take her place starting with the February 9 episode in Hollywood. Guest judges will fill in this spot for all of the audition rounds. It started last night with Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice of the Spice Girls aka the wife of the most famous soccer players of all time, David Beckham. She did alright as a judge, but nothing too special. I'm going to recap the top best auditions and the top worst auditions on this night of competition:
- Katie Stevens--remember this name: She sang "At Last" and did it with much gusto as her age (16). She speaks fluent Portguese and has a grandmother who has Alhemizers. Top 24, for sure!
- Leah Laurenti--She was the final auditioner from last night and sang "Blue Skies." She's so original and a breath of fresh air, but we don't know much background about her. We'll see.
- Justin Williams--the cancer survivor, I forgot which kind. He sang that Michael Buble song "Feelin' Good, and it was.
Onto the bad auditions:
- Derek Hilton--Posh says that he is a cross between Chris Brown and The Eagles. He sang "Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word" by Elton John. Like the lyric goes..."so sad; it's sad". So sad that he's not going to Hollywood.
- Lisa Oliveri--The waitress who sang Vision of Love by Mariah Carey. That was a horrible rendition, worse than Bikini Girl's audition of that song last year.
- Norberto Guerrero--The person who sang "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada, and looked liked Michael Jackson and says he was his inspiration. Nobody can imitate The King of Pop!
Onto Atlanta tonight with Mary J. Blige as the guest judge. I'll post tomorrow!
